From 1967 to 1974, he was a student at the Tecnológico de Monterrey where he received his professional degree in Accounting and a Master´s degree in Finance. Due to his excellent academic records, he was conferred cum laude diplomas at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
David Noel Ramírez has worked at the Tecnológico de Monterrey since 1972. He has been a university professor for more than 38 years and his more than 15,000 students have certainly contributed to the development of México. Besides his teaching, he has acted as undergraduate program director, head of an academic department, academic dean, Dean of the School of Business and from 1992 to 2010 has acted as Vice-President for a Tecnológico de Monterrey Region. From 2009 to december 2010 he was President of the Pacific, Northern and Southern Zones, responsible for 20 campuses of Tecnológico de Monterrey and also in charge of supervising the Universidad Tec Milenio. In december 2010 he was appointed President of Tecnológico de Monterrey and he assumed the charge in january 2011. His philosophy as an administrator is that of a mentor for new institutional academic managers enhancing the development of his collaborators through team work. Throughout his professional career, his interest in improving human values has been a guiding principle in his professional, personal and social activities. The leadership and moral authority gained through years of institutional involvement based in his philosophy is recognized by professors, students, alumni and employees at the university.
David Noel Ramírez is recognized as an expert speaker in accounting, finances and human development. Author of eight books: Contabilidad Administrativa, "Contabilidad de Costos, un enfoque para la Toma de Decisiones", "Empresas Competitivas", "Integridad en las Empresas: Ética para los Nuevos Tiempos", " Estrategias Financieras para Épocas Inflacionarias Recesivas ", "Felicidad, ¿dónde estás?", "Parejas Sedientas de Felicidad" y "Edad Dorada: Vívela a Plenitud". He has published multiple essays and has been recognized as the most prolific author in Spanish with a key record in Latin America in his areas of expertise. Some of his books are used as undergraduate and graduate textbooks in different universities in Mexico and Latin America. Nationally, he is a recognized speaker in accounting, finances, and personal and social values.
He has proven his conviction in research as being the best mechanism to face the challenges of our country, specially to solve the problems of the less favored members of society such as: education, health, housing, and the sustainable development. Moreover, in the different campuses under his administration, he has promoted the creation of technology parks and business incubators to promote the country's development in its different regions.
He has acted as president and / or member of several boards of directors in different associations, professional organizations, businesses and civil associations.
Professor David Noel Ramírez Padilla was born in San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco. Married to Magdalena Margaín de Ramírez 32 years ago. He has 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
